Template talk:ToUSD
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Allo.
This one's pretty easy to use.
Just use the template: {{toUSD|(amount)|(currency code)}}
eg. {{toUSD|100|CAD}} would convert 100 canadian dollars into: $99.
Pretty easy, eh? Well, I'm assuming I made a couple of mistakes, so obviously, feel free to modify as you see fit.
Just please remember something: This was intended to do currency conversions for tables. As such, the decimals were intentionally removed from calculated values. If you do choose to put them back in, then make sure it's only as an optional parameter. (That is, the default should still be to use no decimals)
Incidentally, if you want to update the current list of currency conversions, just go here. Bladestorm 22:34, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Spaces
Should this be producing spaces? I tried to type ($39 million), but it comes out like this ($39 million) when i type this: ({{toUSD|20|GBP}} million) —cmsJustin (talk|contribs) 20:46, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deleted rogue space; added commas
I've deleted the rogue space (it make usage like "({{ToUSD|1000|JPY}})" format like "($10 )".). I also added thousands seperators to make larger numbers easier to read. — Alan De Smet | Talk 02:22, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
