By the Word, what is that picture??

Is it a water effect, or a plant? I can see a fern in the picture but can't quite make out what the blue-green shimmery thing is. It isn't mentioned in the main body or anything. --ZZ 13:14, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)

It's a water spring with some crystals or something underneath that give it that color. You're right that I should probably mention something about it. There are some better pictures here: [1]. Dori | Talk 15:16, Oct 9, 2004 (UTC)
whatever it is, (some form of luminescence) it is awesome. Thanks.ZZ 02:06, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
It is a water effect. This water spring is very pure and comes from under ground. No one is allowed to touch the water, so it is and has always been pure. It is beautiful. User:Americanidol111

Regarding Saranda, is "the wedding city" a prosonym, a suggested etymology, or what? It doesn't make much sense the way it is right now. Etz Haim 15:59, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Also, allegations that the Greek and Italian officials bribe the Albanians (to prevent their tourist industry from growing) are scattered all over Wikipedia, and there's yet any evidence to support them. Without any evidence, plain allegations don't deserve any mention at all. Etz Haim 16:05, 11 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Regarding Saranda, I don't know, maybe it has to do with the vacations that couples take, so it's like saying that Las Vegas is "the city that never sleeps". As for the allegations, it was a feeling that many Albanians had, if you feel it's unjustified, feel free to remove them. Dori | Talk 21:00, Dec 11, 2004 (UTC)

(Loneyplanet: Advice)

The security situation in Albania is on the improve, although visitors should continue to exercise care, maintaining a high level of personal security awareness. The northeast of the country, which borders Kosovo, is the only region travellers should avoid. Unexploded ordnance is still scattered through some parts of this region.

  • you should avoid copying text from guides. Try to paraphrase, or quote. So if we can get the source of this (I'll try a websearch in a few ticks) we can put it in and reference.--ZayZayEM 03:56, 25 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] tourism not history

No one cares about Enver Hoxha and his iron fist when they see 'Tourism in Albania' they want to hear about the tourism there. Lets keep the history lessons in the history of albania. I'm going to change the part about enver hoxha and cut him out I might mention that communism affected tourism very negatively.
