[edit] what

what kind of system can be used to do TBI ? is it with Linac or other natural radiating isotopes ?.

Linac.Jellytussle 08:22, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Palliative Treatments

I believe TBI is also commonly used as part of a palliative treatment routine. Can anyone confirm this -87.74.37.70 07:33, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

You may be mixing TBI up with Total Body Electron Therapy, where the skin of the whole body is treated with electrons, in the palliative treatment of Mycosis Fungoides (for example.) This is not strictly TBI, since the bone marrow is not particularly affected. TBI is a pretty heavy treatment, certainly not used commonly for palliation.Jellytussle 08:36, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
