[edit] Background
Toshiyuki Itahana is a character designer for Square Enix. He is best known for his super-deformed art style, first introduced in Final Fantasy IX. Later he designed the different "races" for Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, which has since evolved into a series currently made exclusively for Nintendo platforms. They include Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates for DS, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Little King and the Promised Country for Wii.
Code Age Commanders was Itahana's first role as project director. He has also developed art for games involving Chocobo, as well as other Square Enix projects.
