Toshiaki Shibata is born 1967 in Nagoya, Japan. He is a Japanese painter, art theorist, and art educator. Shibata received his B.F.A. (1990) from Tokyo University of Art and Design, and an M.F.A. (1994) from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. Between 1988 and 1993, he studied Doctor Course at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. At 2002, Shibata visited Saint Petersburg in Russia for solo exhibition and Pavel Filonov research. Shibata had 16 solo exhibitions since 1989.
