Please do not remove maintenance notices from articles unless the required changes have been made to the article. If you are uncertain whether the article requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the article's talk page before removing the notice from the article. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. Thank you. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 20:06, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for trying to catagorize those articles, but please read Help:Category before attempting to catagorize articles again. Thanks. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 01:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Embers.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Embers.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

[edit] Need to confirm copyright status ASAP
Several of your recent edits quote material from books by Terry R. Shaw. If you are that author, then please review Wikipedia:Copyrights and its supporting articles for the proper procedure for granting Wikipedia the rights to use your previously copyrighted material under its license. If you are NOT that author, or do not grant Wikipedia rights to the material in a timely fashion, all of your edits risk being deleted. Engineer Bob 06:17, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Shaw-Allen-Shaw
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the Shaw-Allen-Shaw article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! -BinaryTed 17:07, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Defiants
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions to the The Defiants article, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. Text of Torshaw private email to Engineer Bob dated 3/8/06: "You flagged some articles of mine about bands (Defiants and/or Shaw-Allen-Shaw) concerning copyright infringment. I am the author of the books that this material is taken from. I OWN THE COPYRIGHT. Put my articles back please. Thank you."
- For the record, I'm not the one who tagged the two specific articles you mention; I just posted an inquiry here on your talk page giving you the opportunity to explain. And while I think we all appreciate you sharing your knowledge, Wikipedia policy is pretty rigid on the use of copyrighted material from other sources. Here's my suggestion on how you might want to proceed:
- Send a letter to the Wikipedia legal office that gives them the right to distribute the material under the GFDL -- this is explained under one of the links I provided above.
- Once you've done that, you can revert any deleted articles yourself
- Remove the source citation from the text of each article (some might consider it self-promotion)
- Add a source citation on each article's talk page that indicates where previously published, and your assertion that you personally (and not your publisher) own the copyright
- Unfortunately, if you don't give Wikipedia a solid legal leg to stand on, people will continue to flag your articles. Engineer Bob 06:47, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Think before you link
In your article on The Great Willmar Minnesota Raid you included a number of links which don't go to the right place. For example the link Gibbon is a link to an article on the tree-swinging apes and not the town of Gibbon, Minnesota as you intended. You need to either write [[Gibbon, Minnesota]] or use "pipe links" such as, in this case, [[Gibbon, Minnesota|Gibbon]] which will link to the first part, before the pipe symbol ("|"), but display the second part, i.e. Gibbon. --Spondoolicks 20:44, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The Great Willmar, Minnesota Raid
The Great Willmar, Minnesota Raid has been proposed for deletion. Please see the aricle for details. NickelShoe 22:58, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- It is now being discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Great Willmar, Minnesota Raid. Please review WP:V and WP:NOT and contribute to the deletion discussion. NickelShoe (Talk) 03:24, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Important: Please read
Before you create any more articles, please please please read the following policies and guidelines: WP:NOT, WP:BIO, WP:VAIN.
You obviously have a very different idea of what is notable enough to warrant an encyclopedia article to the rest of us and that is why I have proposed several of your pages for deletion. Also, please do not use Wikipedia to promote yourself, your book, your bands or members of your family. It is frowned upon for obvious reasons. --Spondoolicks 22:13, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:GAR - 1885.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:GAR - 1885.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an arguement why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Dakota ~ ° 18:15, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome
As a fellow editor from Minnesota, welcome to Wikipedia. I'm sorry you've had a tough reception here in some ways. I hope it doesn't drive you away; you've added some good stuff. (And we have a policy against biting the newbies.) It was a close decision, but your T. Shaw articles got deleted. If you like, though, I can move the information from them to your user page. Let me know if you want that. Regards. Jonathunder 23:16, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Calvary Lutheran Church (Willmar, Minnesota)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Calvary Lutheran Church (Willmar, Minnesota), by 24.4.253.249 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Calvary Lutheran Church (Willmar, Minnesota) seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Calvary Lutheran Church (Willmar, Minnesota), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 09:41, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
