Arnica, Echinacea, and Goldenseal Arnica, Echinacea, and Goldenseal are three medicinal herbs that are very traditional, common, inexpensive, and reliable. Ancient peoples have long used these herbs because of their healing values. Even though we have very advanced medicines now, people still rely on Arnica, Echinacea, and Goldenseal because they are trustworthy and traditional. Arnica (Asteraceae) is a commonly used herb for small injuries, because of its pain relieving properties. The pain relief results from the prevention of blood platelets from reaching the wound. This process also helps reduce inflammation. Arnica’s most renowned use, however, is that it is used in “The treatment of heart failure and coronary artery disease.” because of its unique combination of painkilling, anti-inflammation, and bruise- relief. Echinacea (Echinacea Purpurea) is a mild cold reliever that is trusted by many, even though its powers have never been scientifically confirmed. It is supposed to “stimulate the immune system” and help with respiratory problems. Its main purpose is to cure and ward off small colds, flu’, and infection. This herb is very mysterious, because it scientifically has never been proven to help at all.
