Torrens Park railway station is located on the Belair line 9.3 km by rail from Adelaide station, between Belair Road and Kinross Avenue, in the inner southern suburbs of Torrens Park and Lower Mitcham. The station opened in the late 1800s or early 1900s. Limited street parking is available on Kinross Avenue. This station once had two platforms but due to the standardisation of the Melbourne line in 1995 only the eastern platform is used. The station is not staffed and has no toilets. In 1992 The Australian Plants Society (SA Region) commenced the Torrens Park Railway Station Project which made the surrounding area look much nicer. In 2004 a housing development of around 10 homes was built adjacent to the station, further improving the station's surroundings. The disused western platform and shelter was demolished in February-March 2008.
