The Toronto Supercell, also known as the "Toronto Flood", "Big Storm", "Finch Washout" and "Hurricane" amongst many other monikers, was a strong supercell thunderstorm which struck during the early afternoon hours of August 19, 2005, as part of the Southern Ontario Tornado Outbreak of 2005. The storm produced winds of well over 100km/h, golf ball sized hail, prompted a tornado warning and most notably flooded many parts of the Greater Toronto Area and even washed out a portion of Finch Avenue near Sentinel Ave in North York.
