[edit] Park vs Reserve Status
According to the Parks Canada website, Torngat Mountains is listed as a National Park Reserve. Anyone know what the difference in status actually means? In any case - this page should be moved back to Torgat Mountains National Park Reserve and the various links corrected.Vulcan's Forge (talk) 02:58, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- A National park reserve is a National park who the claim of the firsts nations are open. For Torngat Mountains, they have some territory claims of the Nunavimuits (or Quebec Inuits), mostly about hunting and fishing right. In my idea, They will find a accord in 2008 or 2009 and they will give the National Park statute at the same time they will create Kuururjuaq National Park in Quebec. --Fralambert (talk) 22:32, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Since the park status as of June 2007 (according to the official web page) is still a National Park Reserve, I have reverted the original move. If there's a reference which indicates a change in status, please cite it when reverting this.Vulcan's Forge (talk) 04:28, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
