| Description |
Cross-section of three toroidal isosurfaces of toroidal coordinates, an orthogonal coordinate system. The three surfaces correspond to tau equals 0.5 (blue), 1.0 (green) and 2.0 (red). As tau goes to infinity, the toroids converge to the ring formed by rotating the two foci about the vertical axis. This image was made using Blender on 15 January 2008. I tried to make the tori seem as though they were made of red, green and blue glass, but the shading is disappointing, no? Help with Blender would be much appreciated. |
