From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Greetings!
My name is Ryan, and it's my pleasure to welcome you, TopAce, to Wikipedia! First of all, I'd like to thank you for joining the project, and contributing to articles and discussion. I hope you can continue to take part in Wikipedia, because we need more valuable editors like yourself.
If you are new and need some assistance, here are some great links to check out:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia are the primary goals and most important rules that we follow.
- These help pages are important if you'd like to learn more about specific processes.
- The tutorial is a hands-on approach to learning all about editing.
- For a "crash course" in editing, head on over to Redwolf24's Bootcamp!
- Writing a great article is a noble accomplishment. An article you start might end up on the Main Page!
- The Manual of style is an in-depth group of pages that will teach you how to make articles look their very best.
I hope you enjoy editing here, and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, find out where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Before I go, here's one more tip. When you post on talk pages, be sure to sign your name and the date by typing four tildes: ~~~~. That automatically generates your username and the date. Again, welcome, and happy editing! --Merovingian (t) (c) (e) 21:56, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Autoblocked
{{unblock-auto reviewed|81.182.81.121||Jayjg|decline=Sorry, we need the block message as well. -- [[User:Yamla|Yamla]] 20:32, 15 February 2007 (UTC)}} {{unblock-auto|1=81.182.81.121|2=|3=Jayjg}} There wasn't a block message, not a single word. At least I cannot find it; my block log is empty and the List of blocked IP addresses (or whatever) page cannot even find my IP address or login name. - TopAce 20:46, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Taking a look at Jayjg's block log, it looks like it was a range block to stop socks of Kgeza67 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log). I've pasted below the particular entry in the log ... and his previous blocks make it clear who he was going after. I don't know of any good reason not to redo the block with anon only/account creation blocked. --BigDT 03:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- 10:39, February 14, 2007 Jayjg (Talk | contribs | block) blocked "81.182.0.0/16 (contribs)" (account creation blocked, noautoblock) with an expiry time of 1 week
I see that someone's already contacted Jayjg for comment regarding this range block; given that checkusers have access to information that other admins don't, it's often difficult for us to determine an appropriate course of action when their blocks seem to cause collateral damage. Jayjg should get word back to us before too long. In the meantime, please bear with us, and thanks for your patience. – Luna Santin (talk) 07:15, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, my bad. I took a look at my Block log and not his. No problem if it's only one week. Thanks for making this clear. - TopAce 17:01, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
N.B. user has almost 150 uneventful contributions from what I see going back to 2005. TonyTheTiger 16:54, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- And? - TopAce 18:30, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- By uneventful, I mean that no controversies, warnings, blocks, etc. It is no statement about the quality of his contributions. TonyTheTiger 22:51, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
- I suspected as much, I just wanted to make a comment on your talk page that I did not take offense on this. What's "N. B." anyway? - TopAce 22:53, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Nota Bene - literally "note well", but more accurately "please note". 〈REDVEЯS〉 22:58, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
