Topper (sports)

Topper is a sportswear brand worldwide owned by Alpargatas group, founded in Argentina in 1975, with business in South America, but mainly in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. In 2007 Alpargatas Argentina was sold to São Paulo Alpargatas (owner of Topper in Brazil), a Camargo Correa group company.[1]
Its products range from footwear and clothing to underwear, sport bags, balls, and equipment in general for football (soccer), basketball, volleyball, rugby union and tennis.
In Argentina, Topper supplies garment for Argentine national basketball team, Argentine national Volleyball team and different football teams in Argentina including first division Newell's Old Boys and Estudiantes de La Plata as well as to a number of rugby union clubs, mainly to clubs from the URBA; between 2000 until 2004 it was the official supplier for the Argentina national rugby union team (known as Los Pumas). Since 2006 Topper has become the main sponsor of Argentine tennis players Juan Ignacio Chela and Guillermo Canas.
In Brazil, Topper supplies athletic footwear and garment for outdoor and indoor soccer and other sports. Is sponsor of many athletes and teams.
The brand is also operating in Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other Asian countries.
