Topovske Šupe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Topovske Šupe was a concentration camp located in the Belgrade neighbourhood of Autokomanda in Serbia which was operated by Nazi Germany with the help of Milan Nedić's quisling government during the Second World War.
It was opened in August of 1941 [1]. The camp operated until December of that year. Over 5000 people were killed at the camp [2]. Belgrade was declared "free of Jews" in May of 1942 [3].
In early 2006 a park and memorial plaque were unveiled at the former site of the camp[4]. The memorial was vandalized near the end of 2006, but later repaired [5].
