Topola (Serbian Cyrillic: Топола) is a town and municipality situated in the Šumadija region of Serbia. It was the place where Karađorđe, a Serbian revolutionary, was chosen as the leader of the First Serbian Uprising against the Ottoman Empire in 1804. The local church of St.George is tne burial place of Ducal and Royal Family of Serbia and Yugoslavia (the Karageorgeviches).
The name Topola means poplar.
