Topcliffe Primary School is a primary school located in the Castle Vale area of Birmingham in the West Midlands. It was built in the late 1960s to serve the newly-developed Castle Vale housing estate, and is situated in the north-west of the estate on Hawkinge Drive. The school stands beneath Topcliffe House multi-storey flats - one of just two of the original tower blocks remaining on Castle Vale since extensive redevelopment between 1995 and 2003.
The fact that Topcliffe Primary is located alongside Topcliffe House is the key reason that the tower block was refurbished instead of demolished as part of the local regeneration. Developers who assessed the area after Castle Vale Housing Action Trust was set up in 1993 stated that Topcliffe House's demolition was impractical due to its close proximity to Topcliffe Primary School. The same reason was given for the retention of the area's other surviving tower block, Chivenor House, which adjoins Chivenor Junior and Infant School.
