The Top One Percent Society (TOPS) is a high IQ society, at the 99th percentile of intelligence, dedicated to the intellectual stimulation and growth of its members. To this effect a journal (Termite) to which any member can submit letters, essays, poems or art, has been set in place. It was founded in July 1989 by Ronald K. Hoeflin, Ph.D.

[edit] Membership qualification
Membership requires minimum qualifying scores in a variety of tests. Dr. Hoeflin is the Membership Officer of the society. Former or inactive members of TOPS are eligible to enter the e-mail discussion list immediately upon proof of membership. Membership seems to be limited to U.S. citizens, as TOPS only accepts payments through U.S. banks and post offices.[1]
