Thanks for uploading Image:Hsguns.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Hi Tonkatonka. The article Australian Football League is about the league/organisation that began in 1897 in Melbourne as the VFL and changed its name to AFL in 1989/90, taking the view that a single Victorian competition evolved into a national one, rather than that a new competition started in 1990. There is not article on the 1897-1989 VFL, and suggesting that records from that competition belong on the article concerning the current Victorian Football League is completely inappropriate, as it is about the organisation/competition that began in 1877 as the VFA, and was quite distinct from the VFL from 1897-1989. There may be arguments for having separate articles on the original VFL and the AFL (see discussions concerning the VFA/VFL at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject AFL#VFL/AFL and Victorian Football League pages), but this would affect large parts of the AFL article, not just the infobox and records section. Most importantly, such a change would need to be discussed at Talk:Australian Football League, and a consensus reached, before it is implemented. JPD (talk) 12:06, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
