[edit] Did you know? {{prod}} can have a parameter.
Hello there. You have proposed the article Under Tha Influence for deletion without providing a reason why in the {{prod}} template. You may be interested to know that you can add your reasoning like that: {{prod|Add reason for deletion here}}. This will make your reasoning show up in the article's deletion notice. It will also aid other users in considering your suggestion on the Proposed Deletions log. See also: How to propose deletion of an article. Sandstein 14:42, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for supporting me in my RfA. I really didn't think people appreciate my work here that much, but it's nice to see you do: my Request was closed with 66 supports and 4 opposes. I'll do my best not to turn your confidence down. If in any point in the future you get the feeling I'm doing something wrong, do not hesitate to drop me a line. --Dijxtra 11:56, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Response to your comments on the DNA Resequencer
I also posted this responese on the stargate project page Thanks. With, the way it's last FA nomination looked I almost decided to give up, but since then it's made massive progress. I will move it to the A list. Right now, It's also a Good Article canidate. It has not been approved yet. It would be good someone approved it. As for it being a FA; I thought that subject matter had nothing to do with it. I thought that WP's plolicy was that FAs are judged by the quality of the article, not the subject they're on. Tobyk777 20:52, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- There already is lots of info about the real world in this article. There are sections for other fictional works, the prop, and its plausibility in real life. There is nothing more that can be added. It's 100% complete. It exhausts the topic. User:BrianSmithson/Writing about fiction states that articles should be written from an out of universe perspective. After I read his argument, I agreed, so I reworded the whole thing to be out of universe. Does it still sound in universe to you? If it does ill fix it. Also, I don't know what you mean when you say: "is not so widely used as Stargate or some weapons in the series. So I suggest it stays as it is" Tobyk777 21:46, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 1632 series
- Thanks for your response and team spirit! I Highly recommend the works -- all of them. I don't usually get 'fanish' on much of anything outside sports <G>. The first few books are available for free as eBooks via Baen Free Library. Follow the links from there.
- Start with reading the 1632 (novel) and see if it grabs you. On our article, I haven't been able to get back to it so as to make it 'neutral'. My initial change was a 'spurt' that resulted in most of the text there, as you can see in history.
- Being unfamiliar with the series should actually be an asset in proof-reading and editing that, so if you've got the time, that's a WikiTask well worth doing and would be very helpful. My prose was a bit more publicist than properly encyclopedic! As noted (as well) in the talk:1632 series 'To-Do' list, most of that will be exported into a seperate article fairly soon. I'm trying to upgrade the articles in terms of most needed updates, so it hasn't happened yet due to some necessary researching. Don't bother with 1632 series article in any way, as I have an major (sandbox) change in the works, tonight or tomarrow if all goes well!
Gotta run! Thanks for looking! FrankB 20:51, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re the whole de-bureaucrating thing
Hi, I never came to thank you for the message you left for me a month ago when I stepped down from being a bureaucrat. Thank you for the things you said, it's good to know there are still plenty of good people about in this project. I do not see myself standing for bureaucrat again anytime soon though who knows what the future may bring! Thank you once again. -- Francs2000 09:43, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)
Hey, Tone/Archive2, thank you so much for your vote and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight. If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever... Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me... The JPS talk to me 21:48, 2 May 2006 (UTC) |

[edit] Thanks for voting on my RfA
Thanks so much for voting!
Thanks so much for voting on my request for adminship. I have decided to withdraw my nomination as it seems that consensus will not be reached. If you voted in support, thanks for putting your trust in me to be a good admin. If you voted in opposition, thank you as well for your constructive criticism as it will only help me be a better Wikipedian and perhaps help if/when I apply for adminship again sometime in the future. |

[edit] hi
I just noticed your user page after you voted Keep at the El condor pada deletion page, and I counted the number of places you visited and it's exactly the same number of countries I've visited! Wierd, eh? I'm from Serbia and I used to travel a lot untill I moved to Canada, where people only go to the U.S. and France for the summer. Well, I'd like to talk to you about your travel experiences, especially Egypt and Sweden, I'd love to go there one day :-) Here is a list of countries I've been to, I'd like to share my experiences about a few countries, if you're interested. All the best, --serbiana - talk 00:57, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- Hi. Seems we both like traveling. Yeah, Egypt and Sweden have both been great experiences... I must go to North America some day also :-) I am planning some longer travels before I graduate. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer. --Tone 11:37, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Help with GCOS pages
Hi Tone,
Thanks for the kind welcome message you posted on my talk page. So far, contributing to Wikipedia has been quite an exciting experience, and I am regularly discovering new features (like the 'Reference desk' page, today, where people ask questions and where we can provide individual thematic support).
I actually need your help on a specific issue: A page called 'GCOS' (standing for 'General Comprehensive Operating System') was originally created under the acronym name rather than under the full name. I recently started a page on the Global Climate Observing System (an institution within the United Nations system whose acronym is also GCOS), and that one was never accessible through the acronym, which always points to the oldest page. Would it be possible to move the current GCOS page to its full name and to create a simple disambiguation page to let the users select which page they actually want to read? I tried to do that (there may even be a 'GCOS (disambiguation)' page floating around somewhere) but it obviously does not work (still on the learning curve, I guess). Anyway, thanks for your help in this matter. Cheers. --Michel M Verstraete 23:07, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- Fixed. I created a disambig and transfered the old GCOS contents to a new article under a full name. Glad to help. --Tone 10:04, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Please do not do thing like that - by doing a cut-and-paste move you lost the edit history for the operating-system article, which breaks the GFDL. The correct thing, which I've now done, is to move GCOS to General Comprehensive Operating System and then overwrite the redirect that makes (which has no history) and replace it with the disambiguation. Secondly, when you do this, you need to fix all the links to the article, all of which appear to refer to the operating system, but which all still refer to the disambig. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 12:37, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My RFA
Hi Tone/Archive2,
Thank you for supporting my RFA! Unfortunately it did not succeed mainly because most opposers wanted me to spend more time on Wikipedia. Thank you for your faith in me & looking forward to your continued support in the future.

[edit] Futurama episode moves
Hi, why did you assign (move) all the Futurama episodes with a modifier ((Futurama episode))? I read the reason for it - something to do with avoiding problems. What problems do you refer to? To assign modifiers to the every single TV series episode title is not a standard procedure on Wikipedia. Another thing, are you going to adjust all the infoboxes to redirect the article titles you have displaced or are you going to leave it for others to do instead? I know redirections are not a big issue, and sorry to play devil's advocate, but haven't you just caused more (even if minor) problems?--203.214.88.244 15:30, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television#Naming convention. The present state was that some episodes had the qualifiers and some not. I am proposing to have a uniform standard for naming the episodes. I know there are redirects now, I can fix them manually if there is no automated tool to do the job. --Tone 15:37, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

- Alright, thanks for the reply. Consensus seems all very tentative, though.. I'm satisfied, nevertheless. Thanks anyways.. --203.214.88.244 15:42, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
