User:Tony Sidaway/spoiler bot
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a description of the use of an approved bot by Tony Sidaway to search for unexpected occurrences of the word "spoiler" in Wikipedia articles, to detect home-made spoiler tags with a view to either outright removal or, if I think it's merited, replacement by a "{{spoiler}}" tag.
The script of the bot is publicly available, and it is run by a pre-release version of TonyBot, which is approved for exactly this kind of wiki content query and is run by hand from my laptop.
- irnc-base.egg - An open source extension of Chicken Scheme which provides the language with basic Mediawiki bot capabilities, co-written by myself and another.
- User:Tony Sidaway/spoilers.scm Script run by TonyBot to find unexpected occurrences of the word "spoiler".

- Example output, produced in my userspace by TonyBot running the above script.
- Example article edits performed by hand, by me, using the above Bot output as a worklist.
The bot is intended to edit only in its own userspace and the userspace of the user who writes the script, and any associated talk pages. As it's still under development, it has never edited outside User: and User_talk: in my username and in its own.
