Hi, my name is Tonicthebrown.

I live in Melbourne, Australia.

I am a Christian, which means I serve Jesus Christ. I believe he died and rose from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that he is Lord.

I attend a church within the Anglican Communion.

I am interested in Christian theology, science, astronomy and computers.

I have a particular interest in the interface between faith and science. My opinion is that science and religion should not conflict, as they are both vehicles of truth through which we can learn about the works of God. I am convinced that methodological naturalism upholds the usefulness of science as an investigative tool while allowing God to exist on a metaphysical level. As far as creation is concerned, I would generally identify myself as an evolutionary creationist, and agree with the literary framework interpretation of Genesis 1.

I come from a family of Seventh-day Adventists, attended an SDA school, and have studied SDA theology extensively over the years. Recently I have been interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Seventh-day Adventist Church, and have contributed to several SDA articles on wikipedia. I have worked mainly on the Seventh-day Adventist theology and investigative judgment articles. I would like to help both Adventists and non-Adventists gain a better understanding of what the Adventist church believes and teaches.

The Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students is a valuable ministry to university students which I support.

[edit] The Nicene Creed

The Nicene creed is a statement of what I believe as a Christian.

I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father (and the Son). With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. I believe in one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.
