Tony Torres (Born November 23, 1979) is an American college football coach at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) in Walnut, Califonia. He was originally a defensive tackle for Mt. San Antonio College from 1997 through 1998. He then went on to play defensive tackle for Eastern Illinois University where he graduated in 2001. Over the last four years, Torres has held the position coaching titles of "Defensive Ends Coach", "Defensive Line Coach", "Special Teams Coordinator", and "Recruiting Coordinator".
Torres has developed several young talents over the recent years who have gone on to have extensive collegiate or pro careers, most notably Filisonu'u Tafisi, a former 2004 All-American Defensive Lineman for Mt. SAC, a former 2006 2nd team all Pac-10 Defensive Lineman at the University of California at Berkeley, and current Defensive Lineman for Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League.
Torres is considered by many to be an expert in teaching "Hand Battles", a martial arts concept to defensive line play where superior hand attack tactics and leverage techniques are used to overwhelm opposing blockers.
