[edit] Career
Tony Tammaro started his career in 1989, releasing Prima cassetta di musica tamarra (Italian for First tape of "tamarra" music). The most important song of this album is Patrizia certainly, the greatest hit of the singer.
Tammaro continued to write successful songs and became very popular for his parodies. After a stop of recording, he returned for another studio album in 1997, Monnezzarium. 'O trerrote is the lead song. It is very funny and speaks about a greengrocer who carries some melons in Casoria, a small city not far from Naples, with a Piaggio Ape. The vehicle falls down after an accident and the unlucky driver remains closed in the compartment. He asks for help, but other drivers on the street stops for stealing his melons and don't care about him. Tammaro released his greatest hits in 1999. It is a double album and each of two CDs is made up of twentyfour songs.
Tony Tammaro and his band released on June 2005 The Dark Side of the Moonezz , where Moonnezz is a phonetic pun since it sounds like " Munnezz' ", the Neapolitan word for "Urban Wastes ", " Garbage ", " Trash ". This concept album explores the flaws and merits of the Neapolitan society starting from the problem of garbage disposal and having a journey through love, childhood, cellphone addiction, music piracy, money, government failures, generational conflicts and annihilation of the individuals in the mass. The Dark Side of the Moonezz has several direct allusions and tributes to Pink Floyd's discography from the main themes of Dark Side of the Moon to Wish You Were Here.
