He played his college football at the University of Texas (Longhorns) where he earned a reputation as a fleet footed hitter.

He was taken in the second round of the 1996 NFL draft and played his entire professional career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was released in 2004 after a series of troubling leg injuries and operations. He had a carrer sack total of 55, and had 1 Pro Bowl season in 1999, which he had 12 sacks and 8 forced fumbles for the year.
