Tony Ashton (1 March 1946, Blackburn, Lancashire - May 28, 2001) was a English rock musician who played in The Remo Four, Family as well as in Paice, Ashton & Lord with Deep Purple alumni Ian Paice and Jon Lord.
Born Edward Anthony Ashton, he was an accomplished keyboardist, who first gained recognition in the United Kingdom in 1971 as a member of Ashton, Gardner and Dyke, when that trio's single "Resurrection Shuffle" reached number three on the UK Singles Chart.
In the early 1980s, Ashton was a member of the Terry Smith Blues Band, with Micky Waller (drums) and Jo Ann Kelly (vocals).
In 1991, he toured Germany with a band led by Pete York and featuring, among others, Spencer Davis, Miller Anderson and Dick Morrissey, and appears on the subsequent live album Superblues (released 1994).
Ashton died of cancer in 2001 at the age of 55.
