Toni Wirtanen

Toni Juhana Wirtanen (born April 4, 1975, Heinola, Finland) is a Finnish musician, best known as the vocalist/guitarist for the rock band Apulanta.
Wirtanen moved to Salo when he was under a year old and studied at Lauri's school. After the death of his father when he was 11 years old, his family moved back to Heinola. At this point, songwriting and drawing had become his only means to unpack his feelings.
Wirtanen is also known for having written numerous songs for the Finnish pop singer Irina, and appeared in the 1999 movie Pitkä Kuuma Kesä, portraying the lead-singer of the school band 'The Vittupäät'.
In the 2006 presidential elections he publicly supported Sauli Niinistö who was the candidate of the conservative National Coalition Party.
