Tonghae class corvette

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Four Tonghae (Dong Hae) class corvettes are used by the South Korean Navy for coastal patrol duties. Each corvette is armed with one 1 OTO Melara 76mm compact gun, 3 AA guns, 6 torpedoes and 12 depth charges for anti submarine operations. The ships resemble the later Pohang class but have slightly different armament. Each ship was build by a different shipbuilder. ROKS Tonghae (PCC-751) was the first to be launched, in August 1982, and ROKS Anyang (PCC-755) the last in 1983. Each ship is named after a South Korean city while Tonghae is a port city itself.
