Tondiarpet constitutes an important suburban region of Chennai city. The place is located in the northern outskirts and close to the nearby sea that is Bay of Bengal. Tondiarpet is one important commercial centre in the north of the city. The place shares its boundaries with other important regions of Chennai including the city center, George Town. The extensive road and railway networks connects this suburban region with the rest of the city.
