[edit] Tonic Sol-Fa: Inaccurate, misleading and inadecuate strategy for reading music

Tonic sol-fa is a music reading strategy that can only be used to teach basic notions to non-musicians who will never attempt to major in this field. Individuals with absolute pitch will find using the same label for different sounds extremely confusing and misleading. Likewise, the "tonal tendencies" assigned to the scale degrees are only applicable within the framework of the major-minor system.
