[edit] Beijing Tongrentang, not Tongrentang

Due to the schism in the Re family who owned the company till its nationalization, there are several seperate companies which are called Tongrentang; this article concerns Beijing Tongrentang-- even most Chinese drops the "Beijing" in usage.

The Goubuli purchase which I deleted was by a totally unrelated company, Nanjing Tongrentang, which is formed during this period of schism in the Republican era.

I think the main article should be called Beijing Tongrentang.

BTW: I edited "the oldest surviving brand name" to "one of the oldest" since the oldest is Chen Li Ji (or Chan Li Chai), which has not interrupted its business from 1600. Samuel Curtis 15:47, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
