My interest in wikis has been growing and took a recent jump when I played around with a Mac shareware application called VoodooPad. This creates a desktop personal wiki, which is one way to not organize a personal information manager. I never knew maintaining hyperlinks could be so easy. --TomEM 23:31, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

I used to be a HyperCard enthusiast, mostly for personal information management, but this was back before the internet made HyperCard look very limited and private, in contrast with the web. It appears to me that wikis represent a return of the HyperCard stack for online communal use, which is wonderful. So far, however, it doesn't seem to have gotten at the code object part of HyperCard, in which every object can contain code. I'm sure this will come in time and indeed, VoodooPad allows for links to scripts of various kinds, or they can be installed as menu items. I look forward to seeing the full promise of a networked HyperCard coming to fruition, a huge clearinghouse of procedures and algorithms, akin to Wikipedia, but for a different kind of knowledge... --TomEM 23:31, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
