- This shows 609m words across 1.4m articles (for 30/10/06), implying 435 words per article. (This figure is now 18 months old, and is probably an underestimate).
- Same source shows 4.4 GB (=4,724,464,025 B) across 609m words, implying 7.75B/word. ASCII uses 1B/character which inturn implies 7.75 chracters/word. However, this inlcudes wikimarkup, and 5 char/word plus one for space is standard, 6 characters/word will be assumed.
- There are 2,412,160 articles, which means 1,049,289,600 words, which means 6,295,737,600 characters.
- One volume: 25cm high, 5cm thick. 500 leaves, 2 pagefaces per leaf, two columns per pageface, 80 rows/column, 50 characters per row. So one volume = 8.0E+6 characters, or 1,333,333 words, or 3,065.1341 articles.
