Tommy Fitzgerald was born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. He began his acting career at the age of six.

Tommy has starred in many short films, advertisements, and a number of feature films including multiple IFTA winning film, Garage, Truth About Kerry and most recently, the in production Heresis I: The Shaking Opera, for which he is also a co-writer and Director of Photography. Tommy is currently studying Film and Television Production in IADT, and also studies acting full time at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin.
