Tombstone Territory is an American western television series starring Pat Conway and Richard Eastham. The series aired on the ABC television network and in television syndication from October 16, 1957 until July 8, 1960.
[edit] Synopsis
The show took place in Tombstone, Arizona, one of the Old West's most notorious frontier towns, and the site of the West's most celebrated shootout, the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Tombstone Territory did not deal with Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday, or the Clanton Gang, but with fictional characters. The lawman in the series was Sheriff Clay Hollister, played by Conway, who did his best to keep law and order in Tombstone. The Tombstone Epitaph was the local newspaper, and its editor, Harris Claibourne, played by Eastham, helped Hollister in keeping the peace. Eastham as Claibourne also narrated the series.
The show ran for two years on ABC, and then, in a move that is still rarely made even in modern television, was continued for another season in syndication.
