He was born in Kraków on April 24, 1965. Quite early, he made his first connection to music. At the tender age of three, you couldn‘t drag him away from his parent‘s record player. When he was twelve he discovered the guitar as „his“ instrument. Since his father had only used this instrument for accompaniment, the music-hungry son had to search else where for new means of expressions. From 1983 to 1989 he studied at the Music college in Kraków and received his diploma there. Thereafter he continued to refine his by now exceptional abilities on the guitar as an autodidact – a process that was furthered by his intense interest in the jazz scene in Kraków and his participation in numerous workshops.With time, the musical collection in the Gaworek house grew and Tomasz widened his musical horizons. Above all he was influenced by the music of P.Metheny, J.Scofield, J.Garbarek, R.Towner, J.Pass and many others. Slowly T.Gaworek developed his own style, gave concerts and enriched the life of the Kraków area with his performances on the market square. This eventually gave him the opportunity to play in Germany, where he was discovered by the guitarist and producer Peter Finger, who signed him for his recording label. His company Acoustic Music, brought out the CD‘s of T.Gaworek. Since 1990 he has been giving successful concerts in Germany, Austria, Holland, Poland and Russia. One could mention, for example, numerous tours with „The International Guitar Night“, including such famous guitarists as Peter Finger, Isato Nakagawa, Eric Lugosch, Jamie Findlay und Tim Sparks, concerts at World Exhibition EXPO 2000 in Hannover, International Gardens Exhibition IGA Rostock 2003 and many more. Today T. Gaworek lives in Hannover/Germany and continues to work with Peter Finger.
