Tom a'Lincoln

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tom a'Lincoln, a character created by the 17th century romance writer Richard Johnson (16th century), was the bastard of King Arthur by a girl named Angelica. Raised by a shepherd, he was eventually made commander of an army by King Arthur, by which he defeated the Portuguese. Being a knight himself (his nickname is The Red Rose Knight) Tom fathered two other knights, the Black Knight and the Faerie Knight. The Faerie Knight was by the Fairy Queen, Caelia and the Black Knight by woman named Anglitora, daughter of Prester John. When Anglitora found out he was illegitimate, she killed him. His spirit went on to tell the Black Knight her deed and he in turn killed her. Both the Black Knight and the Faerie Knight ended up traveling together on many adventures.
