Tom Wright (baseball player)

Thomas Everette "Tom" Wright (born September 22, 1923), in Shelby, North Carolina is a retired American baseball player. He was signed by the Boston Red Sox as an amateur free agent in 1942. On September 15, 1948 he made his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox. He was traded to the St. Louis Browns on November 28, 1951. Then on June 15, 1952 he was traded to the Chicago White Sox. He played with the White Sox until he was traded on March 27, 1954 to the Washington Senators. On April 18, 1956 he played his final game after 9 seasons in the Major Leagues.
