Tom Whedon

Tom Whedon is an American television writer.
He worked with Jon Stone on a concept for a Muppet Cinderella series as early as 1964, in the process becoming acquainted with Jim Henson's Muppets, and together, they went on to make the Hey Cinderella TV special for ABC in 1970.
Whedon would go on to work for the Children's Television Workshop, also with Jon Stone, becoming head writer for the children's show The Electric Company'. His credits also include The Dick Cavett Show, Benson, Alice and The Golden Girls, as well as Captain Kangaroo.
His sons Zack (Deadwood script writer) and Joss (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly) also write for television.
