Tom O’Donoghue is a former Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with the Cork senior inter-county team throughout the 1960s.

Tom O’Donoghue played a key role in the full-back position on the Cork senior hurling team throughout the 1960s. The early part of the decade was remarkably unsuccessful for the county, however, in 1966 Cork were back and O’Donoghue captured his first Munster title. The county later defeated Kilkenny in the championship decider, giving O’Donoghue his first All-Ireland medal as well as giving Cork a first All-Ireland victory since 1954. Three years later in 1969 O’Donoghue added a National Hurling League medal to his collection, before winning a second Munster title. In the subsequent All-Ireland final Kilkenny gained revenge for 1966 by defeating their old enemy. O’Donoghue’s inter-county career ended shortly afterwards.
