Thomas "Tom" Merrick was a character in the British Soap Opera Emmerdale Farm. He appeared in the Soap three times first in 1972 along with wife Ruth he was abusing her and she started a relationship with Jack Sugden (Her ex boyfriend and father of her son Jackie) behind his back. The second time was in 1981 going through a divorce with Ruth now known as Pat. The next year tried to ruin pat's wedding to Jack Sugden. and his final stint in Emmerdale was in 1986 at Pat's funeral.
