Tom Lovatt-Williams

Tom Lovatt-Williams, often known as T. Lovatt Williams, was a British poet and writer about railways.
His best-known poem, "Oxford", was broadcast several times on the BBC programme Poetry Please!, and is included in the anthology of favourite poems from that programme. His novel "The Gentle Years" was read on the BBC's Book at Bedtime.
He was also a railway worker. Having studied as an engineering apprentice at Crewe, he was works manager at various places on the LNW system, and later LMS.
