Tom Lee Music opened its first retail shop in Hong Kong 1953. Their main showroom is at Cameron Lane in Hong Kong . Their Tsim Sha Tsui location makes it the largest musical instrument store in Hong Kong and possibly in South East Asia.
[edit] Canada
Tom Lee Music Canada was incorporated in 1969. Starting from a 5,000 sq ft (500 m²) premise, it featured only acoustic pianos and organs. In the early 90's, the company started to offer other musical instruments and print music sales. Today, Tom Lee Music Canada is a full line music instrument retailer with a well established music education division.
Its main showroom resides in a renovated 6 storey, 75,000 sq ft (7,000 m²), nearly 100 years old historical building on Granville Street, one block south of Robson Street, in the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Known as Vancouver's entertainment district, the area is home to the Vancouver Symphony, the House of Blues Commodore Ballroom, and the soon to be completed Performing Art Centre. Tom Lee Music Canada was awarded the City of Vancouver's Heritage Award in 1990 for the renovation and preservation of this elegant building. The company is also the recipient of the "Consumers' Award for Business Excellence" for the past 7 years. Today it operates 9 locations throughout British Columbia, Canada.
