Tom Kraeutler

Tom Kraeutler is a home improvement broadcast journalist and author.

Tom co-hosts (with Leslie Segrete) the nationally syndicated “Money Pit Home Improvement Radio Show” broadcast on more than 200 stations every weekend, with an audience of more than 4 million listeners. His home improvement tips are also broadcast across 350 radio stations weekdays during morning drive time. Talkers Magazine named Tom one of the “100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts in America.” He also publishes a weekly home improvement newsletter and podcasts the national radio program.

Tom is also the Home Improvement Editor for AOL, providing the site with a wide variety of multimedia content.

Tom appears frequently on a wide range of network news and daytime television programs as a home improvement expert. He also hosts "News 12’s" “Home Doctor” series airing on 8 television stations NY, NJ and CT.

He has been a remodeling columnist for House Beautiful has contributed to or been featured in many national publications, including Wall Street Journal’s Smart Money Magazine, Reader’s Digest and Consumer's Digest. His advice appears in the book, "The Practical Guide to Practically Everything."

Tom has more than two decades of experience as a professional home inspector, former building contractor and industrial arts educator. He was selected by former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman to chair the state's first regulatory authority for the licensing of professional home inspectors, which he chaired for several years.

Tom holds a BS in Industrial Arts Technology Education from Trenton State College and completed an international studies program in architecture at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He is also an accomplished craftsman, specializing in woodworking and metalworking.
