Tom Jans

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tom Jans (1948 - 1984) was a folk musician from San Luis Obispo, California. He is perhaps best known for his song Lovin' Arms, which has been performed and recorded by dozens of artists and bands, including Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge, Etta James and The Beautiful South.

Jans toured extensively with Mimi Fariña -- Joan Baez's sister -- and released numerous records. He died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident, as did Richard Farina, Mimi's husband.
