Thomas "Tom" Bruce Griswold (born April 22, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio) co-hosts the radio show The Bob & Tom Show together with Bob Kevoian, Kristi Lee, and Chick McGee. This comedy-based early morning program is among the highest rated in American radio and has been nationally syndicated since 1995. The show is broadcast from WFBQ's studios in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tom was born to Herbert Bruce and Sally Griswold.
He is a 1971 graduate of University School in Hunting Valley, Ohio and a graduate of Columbia University. He worked in radio in Florida and Michigan before coming to WFBQ Radio in Indianapolis in early 1983. Tom's 5th child - Sally Janet Griswold - was born on Saturday June 30, 2007 to him and WFBQ radio personality Laura Steele.[1]
Tom often hosts or participates in Bob and Tom Radio: The Comedy Tour shows.

- Reputed to be a "germaphobe" by those on the show. Tom's hero is Howie Mandel who suffer from a similar affliction. Tom carries a vial of Purell everywhere he goes to sanitize his hands.
- Loves tooth flossing "swords" and can be seen on the live webcam constantly picking at his teeth.
- Big fan of Eric Clapton and in May 2005, he attended the Cream reunion in London.
- Talks of the daily "dog parties" (not what you think...get your mind out of the gutter) he has with his four dogs of several breeds (including Labradoodle).
- Will not stop at a gas station to fill-up if a fuel tanker is present. (In the movies, this is when the tanker explodes)
- Will not enter a bank if a Brinks truck is present. (In the movies, this is when the robbers strike)
- Prefers to walk up to an ATM as opposed to driving up to give muggers a better opportunity to rob him.
- For some reason, prefers email and web pages if they're formatted in Helvetica typeface. Typically disregards all others.
- Because Tom snow skis; anyone on the show who skis is instantly held in high regard and thus superior to other guests and rightly so.
- Has stated numerous times on the show his favorite movie is Toy Story 2.
- Scariest movie is Creature from the Black Lagoon.
- His favorite jail bait flick is Blue Lagoon.
- Purportedly stopped going to his regular supermarket because they rearranged the aisles. Said he was accustomed to facing a certain direction when buying various items and was discouraged by having to learn a new layout. Tom has lost 20 lbs directly from this decision since his wife does all the shopping and is eating healthy now. Bob, Kristi, and Chick have commented that he has a serious screw loose on this more than once.
- Typically wears only khaki colored shirts and cargo pants. Is often berated by Bob, Kristi, and Chick for his lack of style. He goes by the nickname "Brown Clown" because of this.
- Aside from his youngest daughter, Sally, Tom has four other children: Sam, Lucy, Charlie and Willie. It's also been mentioned that he uses nicknames for all five of them and has his own family nickname, which is "Butch."
- Has problems coming up immediately with the right word for the situation. "When Tom Says, He Means..." includes such gems as pouches of goo (placenta), beautiful marionettes (puppets), and driving an airplane (flying).
- Says he prefers not to meet people he idolizes, such as Eric Clapton, for fear that they will be different than his image of the performer, which of course he is one hundred percent correct.
- His four dogs' names are Figaro ("Figgsy", a golden retriever), Belcher (golden retriever), Dax (labradoodle) and Tazzie (labradoodle). Tazzie is the only female. Is kidded by the cast that he now needs a fifth dog to go with his fifth child. Tom has considered it and has stated the name will be Bubba regardless of the gender.
- His sister Jan lives in England and his nieces Poppy and Daisy are socialites. Poppy is an award-winning photographer. Daisy is a world famous Botanist (go figure). Tom thinks his sister has a serious flower fetish.
- Characters: Doctor Tom Whiskey, Dick Mango (Dick Mango Trio), Dr. Raymond Fell-ah-tee-oh, Maurice Shivallianus, Morty Gleckman, Phil Mondor, Mohandas K. Gandhi, Tommy G. (and the Tomtones), Lester and Chester the Molester brothers, Perry the Pedophile, Chris Hansen and the "guy next door" in the classic Stalker's Choice Coffee bit.
- Did radio for a short time in Deland, Florida. Was fired for orchestrating the fastest loss of market share in a quarter (a 21 share to 5, a Florida radio market record that stands to this day).
- Father Bruce was a lawyer who suffered from polio, mother Sally was a physical education teacher. God rest both their souls.
