Tom Fitzgerald is a Television News Reporter for Fox 5 News WTTG in Washington D.C.

A graduate of William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J., Fitzgerald earned a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University's School of Arts & Communications in 1989.

In 2006 Fitzgerald was an Emmy Award recipient for his investigation into the reasons behind a rise in fatal pedestrian accidents. Currently he is a General Assignment reporter on Fox 5 News “The NewsEdge @ 11”. He has covers issues in Washington ranging from politics, to crime and technology issues.
Prior to Fox 5, Fitzgerald reported and anchored at News 12 New Jersey where he also hosted the political talk show "Roundtable". During his years there, he covered the 9-11 attacks at both the World Trade Center in New York City, and at the Pentagon. He has also reported from several Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
Tom Fitzgerald got his start at WBJB-FM radio, an NPR affiliate in Middletown, NJ. He later joined TV34 News in Monmouth, New Jersey where he covered the New Jersey state house, political campaigns, and several major storms that damaged coastal towns.
