Thomas "Tom" Cowan (born August 28, 1969 in Bellshill, Scotland) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a defender who currently plays for Hyde United. He was instrumental in helping Huddersfield Town gain promotion to the Football League First Division during the 1994-1995 season.

During his career he played for Clyde, Rangers, Sheffield United, Stoke City, Huddersfield Town, Burnley, Cambridge United, Peterborough United, York City, Dundee, Carlisle United, Barrow, Workington, Hucknall Town, Stalybridge Celtic and Hyde United. He currently plays for Retford United.
