Tom Blessing IV

Thomas E. Blessing IV (born July 23, 1966) is an independent film and television producer and artist manager from Yellow Springs, Ohio. He is known for his role as a production manager (line-producer) on the television series pilot Loveline (1996),[1] for his production management work with Dick Clark Productions[2] and co-producing the experimental feature film Irish Whiskey (1997).[3] More recently, he co-produced the documentary film The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil (2006)[4] and from September 2006 through 2007 co-developed and managed[5]the musical act BoomBox.[6]

Blessing consults, develops and manages talent and project-oriented business endeavors for entertainment and education through the company he and attorney Nathan J. Elter founded in 1997, AlchemyHouse Productions, Inc., based in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Los Angeles, California.[7] The "co-operation" strives to provide access bridges and knowledge to new and existing talent and markets by integrating Collective Intelligence models on projects. Blessing is a technical production consultant, cinematic[8] and still photographer[9] and co-owner of a sound and stage company.[10]

The grandson of a "Black March" survivor and World War II POW (Stalag Luft IV);[11] his father, Thomas E. Blessing III, is a past Greene County, Ohio, Commissioner[12] and stockbroker; Blessing's mother, Jane, a lifelong school teacher.[13] He grew up in rural Ohio, and graduated from Antioch University McGregor; earning a B.A. in the humanities and management majors and later received an M.A. in the team-based management program.

Serving as a past union Chief Steward (later President) of UE Local 796, Blessing negotiated three collective agreements between Antioch University McGregor and the membership. The most publicized being called 'Hellish', when talks broke down between negotiating teams through the involvement of college students and demonstrations, drawing "extensive media coverage."[14] Subsequent negotiations would become more harmonious as Blessing championed the membership towards integrative bargaining techniques[15] and to forgo legal representation in the direct bargaining process.[16]Aside from entertainment, he has worked for the University as their web developer and information coordinator since 1997.[17]
