Tomás Rafael Rodríguez Zayas (born on 26 April 1949 in Holguín, Cuba) is a self-taught Cuban artist specializing in humoristic drawing, engraving, and illustration.

[edit] Individual Exhibitions

He did many personal exhibitions, among them we can mention "Tomy. 1a Exposición Personal [grabados]", Teatro Nacional de Cuba, Havana, Cuba, 1980. In 1996 he presented his works "El que inventó la trampa hizo la ley"that was traveling all over the country, Cuba. And in 2001 he exhibited "Primera exposición personal del Tercer milenio" in the XII Humoristic Biennial , San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba.

In 1975 and 1977 he was included in the "El mundo existe porque ríe" Bullgary. He was also participated in the II Humoristic Biennial. Círculo de Artesanos, San Antonio de los Baños, Havana, Cuba, 1981. In 1993 was one of the selected artist for the "La Pistola" II Bienal Internacional de Caricatura José Guadalupe Posada. Sociedad Mexicana de Caricaturistas, México D.F., Mexico. And in 2001 some of his images were selected to participated in the Bienal de Bahía, Bahía, Brazil.

During his life he has obtained many awards and recognitions like the Secound Prize of General Humor. I National Humoristic Saloon, Galería La Rampa, Hotel Habana Libre, Havana, Cuba, 1970. In 1999 he gained the Prize of Politic Humor. Salón de la Prensa, Porto Alegre, Brazil. In 2000 he has been awarded with the First Prize.in the Humoristic Graphic encounter , Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Islas Canarias, Spain.
