I don't think this is the same player as the Tommy Neilson who played for Hearts. Andrew Hoggan states the Hearts player was born in Armadale on 28 July 1922 and moved to Ipswich Town in 1948. Admittedly Hoggan can't trace his movements after Suffolk but it is highly unlikely he would be playing in the top flight with United aged 46! Caledonian Place 17:03, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

- The other possibility I thought of would be that the Gorebridge version was attached to Hearts but only played for a youth or reserve team, thus not appearing in Hoggan's book. Even if this were the case, I would still doubt including him as a Hearts player - a bit like Ian Murray being listed as a United player or Willie Pettigrew as a Hibs player. - [1] is a great resource for Hearts players past and present, and like you say, the only Tommy Neilson on there would have been aproaching 50 when signing for United - probs safest to omit Hearts unless something concrete comes up. Fedgin | Talk 17:31, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
